Rethinking the Home—Not Just Updating It

Grandville, MI

Adapt the Home as Life Changes.

We’ve worked with this homeowner for years—starting with an addition early on, and continuing as their needs evolved. This latest phase wasn’t about a single project. It was about rethinking how the home should function for a growing family.

Space had become tight, and the layout no longer supported how they lived day to day. The focus shifted to opening up the home, bringing in more natural light, and creating stronger connections to the outdoors.

A full wall of windows along the back of the house and raised ceiling heights changed the feel of the space—adding light, volume, and a sense of openness that wasn’t there before.

At the same time, gathering spaces were expanded. The kitchen and dining area were reworked to allow for a larger island, better flow, and enough room to comfortably bring people together.

The result is a home that has evolved with the family—more open, more functional, and better aligned with how they live today and what comes next.
