The Family Farmhouse
Jenison, MI
Open the Main floor to Better Support Daily Life.
For this young family, the existing layout felt closed off and limited how the home functioned day to day. The goal wasn’t just a new look—it was to create a space that allowed for connection, flexibility, and room to grow.
The remodel focused on opening the main floor and improving flow between the kitchen, dining, and living areas. Natural light was brought deeper into the space, and the layout was reworked to support both gathering and quieter, everyday use.
Material selections were kept simple and warm—adding character without overpowering the space—so the design feels consistent and easy to live in.
The result is a main floor that works better for how the family actually uses the home—open, functional, and built to adapt over time.
