Warm & Modern Kitchen

Hudsonville, MI

Bring Light and Balance Back into the Kitchen.

The existing space felt dark and dated—not just in appearance, but in how it functioned within the home. The goal was to modernize it without losing warmth or character.

The design focused on simplification and balance. Cabinetry was kept clean and consistent, using a darker stain to add depth while avoiding a cold, overly minimal feel. The island was expanded to create a more natural place for gathering and improve how the space is used day to day.

A full-height backsplash in a subtle herringbone pattern adds texture without competing with the rest of the design—bringing detail in a controlled way.

Each decision was made to create clarity and cohesion, rather than layering on features.

The result is a kitchen that feels lighter, more functional, and fully resolved within the home.
