Opening the Kitchen to Work with the Home

Start with How the Home Needs to Work.

These clients bought their home with a clear goal: make it function for a growing family and better hosting. The kitchen was the pressure point—but not something to redesign in isolation.

The existing space was dark, dated, and constrained by a small island that limited how it could be used. More importantly, it didn’t support how the home needed to function day to day.

The solution focused on reworking the layout to open the space and bring in natural light. Added windows and a more intentional plan changed how the kitchen connects to the rest of the home—not just how it looks.

White cabinetry keeps the space bright, while white oak adds warmth and balance.

The result is a kitchen that fits the home—and actually works for how it’s used every day.
