Start with a clear vision—then make it work as a home.

From the beginning, the homeowner wanted something uncommon for West Michigan: a distinctly modern home. They came in with specific ideas—a single slanted roofline, a darker exterior palette, and a clean aesthetic that still needed to feel warm and livable.

The challenge wasn’t defining the style. It was making sure those ideas were translated into a home that functioned well and felt balanced—not stark or disconnected.

The design focused on openness, natural light, and strong connections to the back of the property. Layout, materials, and sightlines were all considered together, so the architecture and interior worked as one system rather than separate decisions.

Clean lines and neutral tones establish the modern foundation, while warmth is introduced through material choices and selective use of color—bringing personality without competing with the overall design.

The result is a modern home that feels intentional, livable, and fully resolved—not just visually, but in how it works day to day.
